I want and visualize and aspire toward a system of society and learning where each person is able to rise to his or her fullest potential without social or financial encumberance, where they may express themselves fully and without reservation through art, writing, athletics, invention, or even through their avocations or lifestyle.
Where they are able to form networks of meaningful and rewarding relationships with their peers, with people who share the same interests or hobbies, the same political or religious affiliations - or different interests or affiliations, as the case may be.
This to me is a society where knowledge and learning are public goods, freely created and shared, not hoarded or withheld in order to extract wealth or influence. This is what I aspire toward, this is what I work toward.

No Teacher Left Behind
Anirudh has had more than a decade of experience in the education domain, right from test-prep to a school setup. He has been exposed to all aspects of managing the business and operations apart from the core function of teaching. He is from the first batch of IIM-Kozhikode, and has carried forward the proud tradition of pursuing his dreams and being always open to explore opportunities.
Even though he was with Career Launcher for most of his post MBA years, he had been instrumental in setting up greenfield projects in multiple cities like Bangalore, Lucknow and Pune. He is very well known among his students for his command over Math and Reasoning- his core specialization areas. Beyond his inimitable style of teaching, he has been mentoring his students even after they went on to pursue higher studies from premier management institutions. At Career Launcher, he also anchored the technology efforts by designing and implementing a customized ERP system used by the entire organization. He also setup the country’s first Online Tutoring operation for a client in the US to provide Math and English tutoring services over the internet.
He has been quoted for these efforts in the media across the world. After the long test-prep stint, he managed the company’s school at Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He was instrumental in bringing in technology initiatives in the academics and operations of the school, and in setting up the second campus of the school. He also serves on the Board of Advisors of two startups.
While at the school, Anirudh was deeply concerned about the lack of a proper network of teachers which could help them enhance their skills and contribute to a larger cause. With these thoughts in mind, he co-founded Beyond Teaching- a network by the teachers, for the teachers and of the teachers. The core ideas behind growing the network are to provide opportunities for growth to the community, give recognition to the teachers and bringing in social change through the group.
Anirudh is an avid reader, a budding writer and always on the lookout for technology usage in education.
Co-founder, COO & Business Head - Tablets (for learning)
My core professional reason of existence is to make “Quality Affordable Education Available For All (QAEFA)”! I have a strong and definite view that in the question for ensuring access to education perhaps countries, governments and commercial organisations are missing the quality question in education.
One also realizes that as there are no objective parameters and standardization related frameworks to assess quality perhaps, conceptually, quality is as elusive as the definition of literacy. My experience in this time guides me to say that perhaps technology holds the key to addressing this particular education challenge.
Over a period of 16 years I have been engaged with key extant and emerging technologies which are central to resolving the above mentioned challenges. I have closely watched innovative solutions like Negroponte’s OLPC project, Community radio / audio based English learning program in rural Bihar, India, Kinkajou -low power projection device, developed by DtM & installed in Africa, Leapfrog’s pen based learning device, Web2.0 based learning communities, Video and virtual classroom based learning approaches, Second life based / Avtaar based personalized learning activities, Mobile learning solutions, LIQVID’s classroom software, teacher support tools and self paced learning softwares etc. and various other such products but surely much needs to be done to really achieve the QAEFA goal. All the attempted solutions fall short of at least one or two aspects of this goal.
I may add that in LIQVID I worked on several path breaking projects where technology was integrally used to further affordable, effective/ quality learning experiences in the language learning domain. The latest area of my work and interest is a tablet based portable language lab product. Hopefully with a persistent focus and continuous learning support (from others who share the same dream) we can realize the goal sooner than later.

Venudhar Bhatt is an expert in the technology-enabled learning domain. As part of leading eLearning companies in India for the past many years, he has been involved with the conceptualization and development of a wide range of innovative learning solutions to help meet the requirements of clients worldwide.
He has rich experience in the K12, higher education, corporate learning and development domains and has delighted his clients located worldwide, with innovative ideas and the ability to design highly effective learning solutions. Venudhar has conceptualized and designed a couple of novel, patent pending methodologies for knowledge assessment and for performance-oriented learning. These are called Activated Knowledge Assessment and Activated Learning.
The assessment technique is aimed at providing a deeper insight into the quality of knowledge and also ascertaining if that knowledge is performance-oriented. Activated Learning is designed to enable “each learner” accomplish the “same high level” of knowledge mastery in the most efficient and effective manner. The learning process is interwoven with the novel assessment technique to facilitate individualization of learning, which also leads to a highly accurate determination of the learning outcomes.
The priority of this methodology is clear, wherein the quality of learning and outcomes are foremost. A web-based platform has been developed around these methodologies allowing for their independent application, or for their application in an integrated manner, with traditional modes of teaching and learning.
The strategic implementation of this technology promises to overcome the limitations of teaching and learning methods designed in the medieval age.
Jagdish has been building and scaling consumer web-sites for over 10 years. Most recently, he helped build the platform of DimensionU for educational allowance and using educational content in a gamified way with multimedia and games.

School of Education, University of The Gambia
Bakary Singhateh is currently lecturing at the University of The Gambia’s School of Education, and the School of Business and Public Administration. He is a HR professional, with a Master Degree in International Human Resource Development, awarded by the National Taiwan Normal University – Taipei, Taiwan.
Mr. Singhateh’s passion is in the application of ‘e’ in business and education. He has already presented papers in two international conferences relating to how technology has impacted the worlds of education and business. He is a strong believer that new tools embedded in web 2.0 technologies have altered the way that teaching and learning occur, as well as the environment in which businesses operate.
Never before has the world witnessed such a massive flow of information, and never has it been so fluid. Therefore, our educational systems, especially higher education institutions, must respond to these challenges as they take root in our society. It is said that as information grow, so does our knowledge. This implies that knowledge is growing at a much faster pace than ever before, and it is as well changing so rapidly that it is becoming increasingly difficult to contain in books and in structured courses.
What is therefore apparent for teaching and learning in the digital era is a networked and connected type of learning environment.
